20% off until Sunday, all the prints in my (and everyone else’s, presumably) INPRNT store. Get on it!
ALONE AT NIGHT. Now available as an open edition giclee print through Inprnt. You can get it in a variety of sizes, both in a 4:3 ratio (designed best for 24” x 18” dimensions) and 3:2 (for 36” x 24” dimensions). You’ll see on the pages—they’re available in smaller and larger sizes too. Basically the 36” x 24” is super big and includes the entirety of the original pen and ink drawing, while the 24” x 18” is slighly less wide, but prints at almost exactly life size, and is pretty dazzling in person, if I do say so myself. Plus the guys at Inprnt have been very helpful to me, so I’d love it if this print sold well for them. Plus I get half the money when they do sell, so that doesn’t hurt either.
Either way, if you are into space, or know someone who is, these prints are going to make them swoon, and I say that as the guy who spent 3+ weeks of 5-6 hours a night cross-hatching every single inch of this thing that isn’t an astronaut (about a 5” square). They will thank you, and I’m thanking you right now!
SPACEMAN ONE AND SPACEMAN TWO.
One Two of the twenty-five dollar sketches I do; you can buy one here, and see all the ones to date here. Subject suggestions for these were “spaceman” and “iPhone” but I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to draw for “iPhone,” so I spacemanned again.
For those of you who purchased my Alone At Night print, there was a slight delay at the printer, so thank you for your patience! I should have them in hand around Tuesday, and will try to get them all turned around in a day or so! And there are just a few left over you can still get, if you missed the presell.
IF you are planning on buying THIS print featuring a lonely astronaut at night, then YOU had better get on it, sister. The presell ends at MIDNIGHT EST. The numbered edition will comprise the total orders (currently about 25) + 5 for me + 5 extra because I’m an optimist. So if you’re into numbered limited editions, then it’ll be a nice low one for a really sharp looking print. I got the proof back today and posted a detail on my Instagram. I don’t want to brag, but U_U
ALONE AT NIGHT II (detail)
To give you an idea of the scale and preposterous, maddening, stupid amount of detail and cross-hatching, the entire astronaut in the drawing is about 5” or less across, meaning the detail I included here is around 1.5” wide. The whole thing is a 30” x 20” watercolor. Created for Mike Mitchell’s SPACE! The Gallery Show, now on display at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
I’m doing three prints of the image, which are currently available for presale:
Presell ends on Wednesday—the numbered edition will include the quantity sold during the presell period, plus five or so for my archives, and that’s that. So get on it if you’re into limited stuff. If you don’t care about limited stuff (I myself do not care about limited stuff much), then after the presell ends it will be available through Inprnt as an unnumbered edition in at least two sizes.
ALONE AT NIGHT I
30” x 20” watercolor (figure is approximately 5” across). The first of two pieces created for Mike Mitchell’s SPACE! The Gallery Show, which launches at Gallery1988 West on June 21, 2013 (tonight!).
I’m doing three prints of the more detailed of the two images, which are currently available for presale:
If you’re anywhere near Los Angeles, you should treat yourself to this show. I’ve seen some of the other pieces, and whoa nellie. Mike has really outdone himself, and I’m honored to have been asked to be a part of it.
THE GREATEST EXPLORER on INPRNT. This week I’m uploading some of my favorite of my prints to Inprnt. I got to see some of their work in person recently and was blown away by the quality and richness of the colors. If you haven’t ordered from them before, they’ve got a billion great prints on their, including some by friends of mine like Sam Bosma, Kali Ciesemier, and Aled Lewis.

I rarely use digital brushes. The very realistic pencil is in fact, a very realistic pencil!
