NO-FACE. An “Hour Drawing,” one of a series of commissions taking at least an hour, usually 2 or more, to do. When time allows they’re available to buy here, and you can see the 200+ set of them so far here. Subject suggestion for this one was “No-face.”
THE THIRD MAN. An “Hour Drawing,” drawn in between 1-3 hours or so (this one took WAY too long). You can buy your own (not this one, it’s taken) here, and see the 200+ set of them so far here. Subject suggestion for this one was “The Third Man.” I usually would never spend so long—maybe upwards of 6-7 hours? on one of these, but the buyer had been patiently waiting for a million years, AND The Third Man is one of my favorite movies of all time, so it was hard not to be enthusiastic.
THE TRIP. A movie I think about all the time. I can’t watch it while I’m working because it’s too visually arresting—the landscapes of Northern England are so unexpectedly beautiful. And the ending was so perfect. So! Perfect! I can’t imagine why they’re making another, but I’ll certainly watch it.
AND THE OSCAR FOR BEST MOVIE ABOUT A VIOLENT ORPHAN GOES TO…
I’ll be reopening sales on these drawings, at a slightly increased price, on Monday, May 6. So if you’ve been waiting, get ready—in order to control demand (and workload), I’ll only be taking 10 orders.
Also this week I launched this new print, along with a week long sale.
MASTER BLASTER. An “Hour Drawing,” available to purchase here, and the 200+ set of them so far here. Subject suggestion for this one was “science fiction,’ and my brain wasn’t working well that day, so I just drew my favorite Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome character.
NOTE: while the hour drawings are currently “sold out” while I finish the last batch, I’ll be reopening them for sale on May 1st, and will take 10 commissions before closing them again. So if you’ve been waiting, mark your calendars. They’ll go up to $85 per—I’m trying to find the right price where they sell at the right speed.
I’ll tell you a secret, Willy Wonka has always given me the creeps. I’ve never watched it again since the first time. Only The Wizard of Oz gives me THE SHIVERS more.
