I was about to go approve the proofs for this new giclee print I’m doing, but my truck won’t start. *sound of me trying to start it for 30 minutes* Sales on this print have been slow, which is not your fault. But if you were thinking of getting one and were on the fence, or just would like something colorful for your wall, something made by a 38 year old man who I guess is going to have some auto bills in his future, something that’s taken from a story that he’s very proud of, though it was painful to make… well this is your chance!  And don’t forget that I’m having a sale until Monday morning, meaning you can enter discount code SPRING during checkout and get 30% off this and anything else in my store you’d like, as long as you hit a $20 minimum. A new 14” x 8.5” [EDIT: printer problems have changed this to a 12” x 9”] giclee print, now up for presell, which will last until Friday, May 3; all prints sold during this time will be part of a numbered edition exclusive to this period—AND they’re part of the sale mentioned below, so while they’re listed at $30, functionally they’re $21 during the presell.

Prints sold after that time will be part of a small unnumbered quantity debuting at TCAF. I got my proofs back for the In The Woods print, and while it’s hard to see in this photo (taken in a rented truck while moving a sofa), the ink, especially in the dark tree at right, is so dark and textured and thick that it looks like velvet. I couldn’t be more pleased, and believe me I’m a picky m-f. If you’ve already bought one of these, you’re going to be pretty excited when you get it in the mail. If you haven’t, there are about 30 left right here.

THE MAGIC GIVEAWAY:

EDIT: It turns out you can’t run a raffle in North Carolina. Who knew?? Probably most people, and I should have researched that beforehand, during the first blush of “oh I know a way to drum up some money for TCAF tickets!” So I’m going to treat this as a funding drive. At the end of the drive, which I’m going to move up to Monday, January 28, I’ll do a number of random giveaways, based on the total proceeds. I can’t call it a “raffle,” but I will work out a way to honor the original intent and amount of any donations already received, as well as any going forward. If you have any problems at all with this, just email me and I’ll cheerfully refund your donation in full. So here’s a thing I’m going to do, one week from today, to cobble together some money to buy my flight to Toronto and this summer’s Toronto Comic Arts Festival. I’m going to raffle off a set of more-or-less everything I have for sale, including stuff that’s long gone (where I still have copies). $1 a throw, no catch, just Paypal me $1 or more here, and I’ll stick your name in a little Excel sheet. If you send $10, I’ll stick your name in 10 times. On Friday February 1 I’ll have someone pick a random number, and the winner will get all this stuff shipped to them totally free, anywhere in the world.

There’s a complete list of everything so far at my site, and if/when I add items or additional prizes, they’ll appear there too. Thanks in advance if you can spread that around a little bit—it’s around $375 worth of stuff (*gulp*), so the $1 a ticket thing works best if there are a lot of $1’s in there.

Posh! I’m about to go inspect the proofs of these at the printer, and then orders should start going out over the weekend. All of this is potentially a part of my holiday sale, where orders of $50 or more can get 35% off with discount code DHARBMAS in my store.
